I found Melvin Windust on the 1920 index
Poewshiek County, Iowa. 20 yrs old
(the census was in correct on Melvins age he was 22.)

I don't know how accurate I am on the brothers and sisters.  these are 
the names  I seem to remember.  The 1930 census are not available for 
viewing until the year 2004.  How ever I do think the State of Iowa has 
the  1925 census available and I do intend to send for these.   I guess 
it really doen't matter since you are only interested in knowing your 
roots.  We now know the Windust side starts in England.  If my memory is 
correct there is also some French.  I will see what I can find out on the 
Breniman side next trip to the Library.  May 18, 1997  B. Hull
Death Certicate of Melvin Layton Windust  States he died of  adominal 
Carcinomatois and Carcinoma of head of Pancress.  It also states that 
Melvin was in World war 1.  Melvin died in the va hospital in Bellflower, 
Ca.
